Why doesn’t the government fix the current problems? Because it makes sense!

With all the debates going on today, why doesn’t the government do what seems the most logical, fix what is wrong now and then try to improve on those programs. It seems simple doesn’t it? This country was built on free market principals, but the government doesn’t get how to use that system to make their programs run efficiently. Why is it that every government program that has ever been implemented, has or is in the process of failure? It would seem that it just makes perfect sense to have a good business plan. Like a private business, without a profit plan, it is doomed to failure and will eventually go out of business. What is it with tax payer money, that it makes it OK to just waste? When the government puts together a program, it should work just like a real business that produces profits just like any other successful company. Take the post office. They have been running in the red for years. Why is that? It’s being run by special interest groups like the unions who want huge pay, more hours, even when it could be more efficient to cut back Saturday service, the unions cry a fit and the government backs down and let’s them continue to run in the red on the tax payer’s dime. Kind of ironic that in order for the unions to get what they want, they donate a massive amount of money to the politicians that have a hand in making decisions for the post office. That money comes from the postal workers, so what that means is the more money the postal workers make, the more dues they pay the unions. This should tell you how much the unions take in if they lobby hard to keep the postal workers at a high pay scale and even when in near bankruptcy, they do nothing to fix it. To the average person, it makes sense to run the post office just like any other business. Hire workers at a competitive wage, cut back on hours, such as Saturday delivery if it saves money, and get rid of all the high paying jobs from the massive amounts of departments that are not needed. Run the post office like a business, and it will save money and add to the reduction of the deficit. This goes for Am-Trak as well. It’s the same old story there. Politicians have a hand in it’s operation, so it cost tax payers money. Why is it that every government program, (Company) runs at a deficit level rather than a profit level? It’s all about which lobbyist gives the most money to campaign for which politician, and not about what is best for America. Every American needs to ask themselves a simple question, would I run my business that way? And if not, what would I do differently? Why would I not run it that way? The answers will come very easy to anyone with a sense of business or for that matter, common sense. Look at health care. There is a huge debate going on about this debacle. The majority of the American people do not want this plan, so why is the government so adamantly trying to push this issue? It’s not because it’s in our best interest, it’s because it’s in their best interest, special interests to be precise. Why won’t the government look at the current problems with the programs that are running now and fix those problems first, then tackle a resolution? Can anyone ask themselves that question and come up with a valid answer? Very doubtful. America is on the verge of a worthless dollar, yet some people continue to help advocate these self destructive policies. The government has been on a downfall for years and we as Americans need to stand up to all those who oppose idea’s put forth by the people regardless of political affiliation. Democrats and Republicans have been fighting back and forth since the beginning of the two party system and it doesn’t look like it will stop anytime soon. With that said, it’s up to the American people to take a stand, together. Put down the D or the R and put up an A for American, and stand up to those in Washington and tell them we have had enough. Forget the disagreements for now. Contrary to what the current administration is claiming, we do have plenty of time. Send a message to the politicians we elected to serve us, represent us, fight for what we want. Tell them that their job has come to an end. Thank them for their service, let them know that were sorry, but please don’t use us as a reference for your next job, that is unless you took enough from us to live comfortably for the rest of your life and we sit idly by and not prosecute you for stealing our money and retire. Stand together as Americans and no matter what your views are, tell them in Washington to stop all spending programs, and fix the current problems before doing a single thing more. It’s simple common sense that all Americans can agree on. Right?

The Hard Truth, Crime or Terrorist Attack?

Why is it so hard for some people to say Muslim terrorist? Would it be as hard for the Muslim community to say Christian terrorist if a Christian ran into a Muslim gathering and started shooting Muslims yelling Jesus Christ? I think not. In fact, I would go as far as to say that this administration would most likely condemn this, as it should, but on a Christian terror level and not on the premise that this person was mentally unstable as it is doing with Major Hasan. A Muslim woke up that fateful morning and put on his Muslim religious garb, left his apartment, stopped at his usual place, 7-11, for his morning coffee. The store clerk new Major Hasan enough, by his frequency of visits, to know what his usual routine, mood and mannerisms were on a regular basis. That morning, Hasan would come into the store, not dressed as usual, in his civilian or military uniform, he was dressed as if ready to go to a religious event at his regular group of worship, which is also the place where the leaders are regularly in contact with Al Queda as was Hasan. This store clerk witnessed a different Hasan that morning. As she stated, he was usually quiet. That morning, he was, as she put it, peaceful. She couldn’t quite pinpoint his demeanor, but peaceful is what she came up with and that is usually what a Muslim feels when ready to meet his fate of the Muslim form of heaven with their 72 virgins in the waiting. During an interview before the election on the O’Rielly Factor, Bill O’Rielly told then Senator Obama, that another terrorist attack while he was President, if in fact he was elected, would be the end of his Presidency. Obama agreed. Is this a reason to down play this attack? Most Americans agree that this was, and should be investigated as a terrorist attack by a Muslim extremist acting on behalf of jihad, the Muslim holy war. The Obama administration continues to dodge the real reasoning behind this attack. As Obama himself said, we must not jump to conclusions. Doesn’t seem to be what his stand was on the Cambridge police officer who arrested a Harvard professor who was breaking into his house and when officer Crowley showed up, Professor Gates became belligerent and subsequently was arrested. President Obama, after stating he did not know all the facts, commented that the police acted stupidly. Seems to me, he jumped to his own conclusion in that incident, but when it comes to national security, he preaches what he does not himself practice. All indicators in this murderous attack on a military base by a Muslim extremist show it was in fact a terrorist attack on US soil. Does it matter that it was only one person? Would it make any difference if Major Hasan walked in with a bomb strapped to his back rather than a gun? It shouldn’t matter, but with this administration, it seems to matter a lot. Even with the majority of Americans asking that this be treated as terrorist attack, the administration is once again ignoring the voice of the people, just as it is ignoring the people’s voice on the health care issue. What this says, and very loud and clear, is that this administration is out for it’s own agenda, and the people who put them in power, don’t seem to have a voice in anything since the election of a man that promised everything and as of yet, delivered nothing but chaos in America.

You need to get some “Liboggles”, Or Not.

Once you insert these magic lenses between your eyes and reality, everything becomes clear. Fantasy is transformed into reality. Enemies are friends and strength is gained through disarmament and appeasement. Why, even the stimulus, huge debt, manmade global warming, and single payer healthcare will make perfect sense. However, unlike universal healthcare and the liberal claims, liboggles aren’t entirely free. You have to cede rational thought, personal responsibility, and individual liberty. Alas, a small price for world peace and the comfort of knowing that an all benevolent government will take care you.

The paragraph above is something taken from a site I frequent, to debate some of the most pressing issues facing Americans today. When I read that, I laughed a good hearty meal with that one, but also realized that it seems more relevant than one might think. It’s on the same lines as looking at life through rose colored glasses. Something is there, you know it , you don’t feel right about it, but for some reason, you just go with it, support it, but you don’t know why. You dig deep inside your soul for the answer, but you just can’t find the right answer. You just know what you have been told and taught all these years, and you couldn’t possibly go against your values, even if those values don’t seem right anymore.

What does one do in this dilemma? The answer may seem easy, but it’s the hardest thing any person can do. You read things, you hear things, you see things. All those things go against everything you were brought up to believe and everything your friends and family have been telling you, but for some reason, it just doesn’t feel right anymore. Your scared of the condemnation you might receive for even mentioning what you are feeling, because it does not fit with what those that taught you are thinking, feeling and doing.

The easy way out, is to just put on a pair of liboggles, (rose colored glasses) so everything will seem OK again. The sky is gray, put on the liboggles, and it’s nice and blue with the sun shining bright. You get your paycheck and begin to complain about all the taxes taken from you. Put on the liboggles and all of a sudden, you feel euphoric, and think, well, the Government needs it more than I do, so it’s OK. You walk down the street and get to the corner where the same person has been begging for years while smoking cigarettes he bought, and your first thought is to ask why he or she hasn’t taken the time to get cleaned up, find a job and get off the streets, but then you put on your liboggles, and instead, you reach in your pocket and pull out more of your hard earned money and give it to the person so they can go buy more cigarettes and maybe a bottle to go drink after the traffic cuts down.

Now keep in mind, I didn’t say all the people you ever see begging at the street corner, I said for years, the same person. At some point, no matter the circumstances, one has to wonder why they don’t seek help. If they know enough to stand and usually make a small fortune at some street corner, then they have enough sense to take some of that money to get cleaned up and get a job. Kind of like the time I saw a jeep right off the freeway exit with an out of gas sign. I gave him money for gas. The very next day, that same jeep, with that same person and same sign, was in the exact same spot. The man didn’t even have the smarts to move his operation to another area, but rest assured, some poor sap fell for it, and gave him money.

I guess we can say the same about all the politicians, that for some reason, we keep putting into office. We know the economy is bad, the deficit is skyrocketing, and the spending is so out of control, it’s going to burden many generations to come, but yet, here they still are, doing the same things year after year. We put on the liboggles and wham! Things are just fine, we open our wallets like a swarm of step ford people bowing to everything they tell us. We elect a person who promises hope and change, but we ignore the radical background we see all over the media and take him at his word. What happens? The lobbyists that was promised to not be involved or even a small part of this administration, are all over in the administration. The tax hikes promised not to hit the middle class, are starting to show in hidden places. We think the price just went up, when in fact, they only went up due to the Government taxing goods and services that are pushed on to the consumers.

So why do so many continue to put on the liboggles? We may never know, but it sure would be a shame some day, when some of the good, well intentioned liberals take off those glasses and ask the question, what happened to our country?
